Yup, we spoke loud and clear. We also don't want a bunch of comminist bureaucrats coming between us and our health insurance companies when our coverage is denied. It's about Freedom.

You have to hand it to the people who work in the field of corporate propaganda. Let know one claim that the science of propaganda isn't a proper science!

Tom Harper,

My girlfriend has a very painful medical condition.

She normally gets extremely expensive shots every three months for it (Botox is definitely not cheap). It's a constant struggle to get the insurance companies to pay and has been that way for as long as I've known her (more than a decade).

They've outdone themselves this year. My girlfriend hasn't been able to get a single treatment. And how did they do it?

They authorize the treatment but it comes with a one month expiration. If she doesn't get the treatment within the month, she needs to get another authorization.

Meanwhile, there's a 2+ month waiting list at the hospital. They won't schedule her unless the insurance company has authorized it. And, technically, they haven't (since the authorization would not apply to the date and time scheduled).

She therefore has not been able to get a single treatment this year.

As if that's not bad enough, the insurance company overcharged her for her premiums many months ago. They double charged her. When she complained, they said they would fix it. That's not exactly what happened though. Instead of reversing the charges for the doubled amount, they charged her double yet again.

The money is having an extremely difficult time getting back to her. Somehow I kind of doubt it would take more than a few minutes if the error was in her favor.

So yeah, the people have definitely spoken loud and clear! We do indeed want the freedom to deal with this crap without pesky regulations and laws getting in the way, lol. Sigh.

Gallows humor.
