The Carpetbagger Report searches for the mysterious 100 billion that McCain will instantly save when he becomes president. The problem is--this mysterious savings doesn't exist since nearly all the earmarks are for programs (military expenditures and money to most-favored dictatorships) that McCain has vowed not to cut. With all of these programs off the table, the figure drops down to around 10 billion and it's even highly doubtful that those programs could be cut. Somehow, all this savings is supposed to happen as we lower taxes and expand our pre-emptive wars around the world. McCain needs to stop trying his hand at economics and just stick to waving the flag.
