He-he-he

New evidence is appearing that the Chinese government was complicit in a cover-up regarding underaged gymnists. I personally don't give a rat's ass about the Olympics with all the nationalist fervor over gold medal counts and the like. But I'd agree with those who feel that the legacy of these Olympics may very well be the Chinese penchant for propaganda and manipulation of the media at all costs.

As it happens, my brother is a photographer covering these Olympics. His 6th or 7th maybe. He spent a couple of weeks in New Orleans after Katrina, and he also covered the dead Pope - all of which should give him an ineresting perspective on how various governments (and the Vatican) interface with The Media.

Once he's home, he'll undoubtedly have a lot to say on this topic. Naturally, I'll share his insight on my own blog

Please do! And tell me so that I can link to the story here. First-hand reporting is what the blogosphere needs.

Does this honestly go any deeper than "Waah! The Chinese are better at cheating than we are!"?

Oh what, you don't think this is the only not-entirely-honest thing going on at the Olympics this time around, do you?

I'm that sports is full of cheating--especially when it comes to drugs. But fact that this cheating was probably assisted by the highest levels of the Chinese government is disturbing.
