The Texas Primary

My DD has some interesting analysis on the upcoming Texas primary that claims that Hillary, even in a best-case scenario, will only pick up a few more delegates than Obama. The Democratic Convention this year could be one for history with all sorts of interesting possibilities. There's even the possibility that Edwards will encourage his delagates to go en masse to one of the candidates (Obama?).

A Colin Powell Endorsement for Obama!
Is it possible that the former Secretary of State Colin Powell, a Republican could endorse Barack Obama for President?

Colin Powell was very candid in his interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN. He made it very clear that he will vote for the best candidate and not necessarily a nominee of his party. He also talked about Obama rather fondly.

Colin Powell may be reminiscing about the time when he was asked to run for President and he declined. I guess he feels Obama is competent, charming and fresh and could the take the country to a new direction so why not support him. Though not a done deal yet, but it seems very likely.

Colin Powell also has to wash off his own embarrassment of that Iraq war speech that he made in the UN and this may be the perfect opportunity to do the right thing. Despite that UN debacle, Colin Powell is still one of the most respected individulas in the United States and around the world. His endorsement will mean a lot for Obama. Imagine the experience he could bring to Obama's team as Secretary of Defence, charged to put an end to the war that he started.

I certainly don't respect Powell. This is someone who told lie after lie to the U.S. and the world--lies that helped butress a war that'll cost countless lives and trillions of dollars. The lies weren't half-truths or faulty interpretations--they were absolute fabrications that everyone in the know at the time (including Hillary) knew to be false. Of course, if Ann Coulter's going to endorse Hillary, Powell can endorse Obama. What lying Fascist idiot can we not get to endorse McCain?

I agree that Colin Powell has some expalining to do. But it is also a fact that he was set up by Cheney through his spy Bolton in State Dept. Powell was not satisfied with the info and should have refused to go before the UN. Powell admits that was his worse moment in life.

On Texas, Obama has not even started campaigning. Once he gets going, he will probably win Texas too.

I think Obama's on a roll. He doesn't really need to win Texas. It's enough if the votes come out fairly even.

If he pulls off the upset in Texas or wins Ohio, he'll have the nomination and this will all be a moot point anyway.

Here's hoping!
