They look gift-wrapped.I suppose the implication of being able to genetically modify our food to look like it is in it's own packaging is good for the environment, given our penchant for putting stuff in boxes so we can later throw it away, but I'm still skeptical.
In Japan, I'm sure the goal isn't to save on wrapping. Unfortunately.
