Blog to book

In what is a first (at least for me), I saw a book in the bookstore today that was the published version of a blog. The book was of Baghdad Burning by Riverbend--a woman writing about everyday life in Iraq under the occupation. By the way, I noticed that Riverbend's blog hasn't been updated in over a month. Does anyone know why?

That is really exciting that she has a book. I hope she's been away from the blog working on the promotional materials for her book, and not because of anything nefarious. I'm definitely going to purchase a copy. It's great, too, that it was published by the Feminist Press out of CUNY. Cool.

It kind of turns the conventional heirarchy on its head, with print being what happens after the stories hit the blogosphere.
